Telangana Government today submitted an affidavit in High Court on the rehabilitation package to be provided to land acquisition victims under GO 123.
On hearing the case, the High Court posted the next hearing to Tuesday. The Government Counsel said through GO 123 victims will get better compensation and rehabilitation package than that of 2013 Land Acquisition Act and farmers have no objection on this account. The court heard arguments on a petition filed by land evacuees of NIMZ by the government.
The petitioners pleaded that they will lose employment if their land was taken over by the government. The Government informed the High Court of the steps being taken by the government to provide complete rehabilitation measures and steps needed. The Government counsel also submitted a report to the court showing alternative measures to provide employment opportunities to the farmers and allied workers. The court will hear the case on Tuesday. (NSS)
