Johannesburg, Dec.13 : West Indies skipper Jason Holder believes that their humiliating first Test defeat against Australia was not a step backwards for his team and insisted that they have competed well in the past as well.
The 24-year-old urged his side to put collective efforts in order to perform well in the ongoing series against Australia, Sport24 reported.
Despite of suffering a huge defeat by an innings and 212 runs at Hobart, Holder revealed that the spirit was still there among the players.
Reflecting on his performance, Holder asserted that he performed his duty quite well and stressed that he would continue to focus on cricket and nothing else.
With the defeat, West Indies are currently trailing 0-1 in the three-match series and will play their next two matches in Melbourne and Sydney. (ANI)
