Telangana Political JAC has demanded the State government to announce all mandals in the State as drought hit. The JAC submitted a report prepared on drought conditions prevailing in the state, to the Chief Secretary Rajiv Sharma here on Wednesday. JAC leaders Raghu, DP Reddy, Laxman and others accompanied JAC chairman Prof. Kodandaram when they met Chief Secretary.
Later, speaking to the media, Kodandaram asked the government to clear loan waiver amount at one go. Demanding the government to pay Rs.10,000 ex-gratia per acre to the crop loss, he wanted the government to take up drought relief works on a war footing. Making it clear that no official has visited the drought hit areas, Kodandaram said that JAC was convening a meeting with the leaders of public unions. He revealed that JAC will visit Manchiryala and Godavarikhani open cost mining areas on May 3. (NSS)
