Karachi: The death toll from the flash floods and torrential rain that hit north Pakistan last week has risen to 13 as four more people were killed after their pick-up truck was washed away by a seasonal stream in Khuzdar, Balochistan, officials said.
The vehicle was crossing a seasonal stream when it was swept away due to a massive surge of water, reported The Express Tribune.
According to a report by the National Disaster Management Authority, the floods have already claimed three lives in the north-western valley of Chitral and another three in Punjab’s Muzzafargarh district.
A further three were killed in Zhob’s Baluchistan district.
Over 180 buildings, including houses, shops and hotels, in Chitral have been washed away in the flood, while 15 bridges and 12 roads have been damaged. (ANI)
