Deal with Maharashtra won’t help Telangana: Jeevan

Hyderabad: Former minister and senior Congress legislator T Jeevan Reddy today lashed out at the TRS Government for claiming success in signing a deal with Maharashtra government for completing five irrigation projects.
Talking at the Assembly mediapoint here on Saturday, Jeevan Reddy accused Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao of failing to protect the interests of the State. Expressing resentment over the comments of Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao that the previous Congress government did not take up any irrigation project, Jeevan Reddy claimed that his government had taken up many projects and the current TRS regime was continuing them. The deal struck will only help protect Maharashtra irrigation interests, he said.
The Congress leader also slammed the Irrigation minister for failing to complete Mid-Maneru project by the TRS Government. “The KCR Government has miserably failed to announce rehabilitation packages to the displaced persons of the project. The ruling party was indulging in hype rather than completing them. The deal with Maharashtra on projects would not help Telangana State reap in benefits”, he felt. He also sought to know why the State government did not call an all-party meeting on Medigadda project. (NSS)
