Data theft: Kodela terms YCP complaint as immoral

Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Assembly Speaker Kodela Sivaprasada Rao here on Tuesday spoke on the sensational data theft case involving two Telugu State governments. Stating that the data related to ruling TDP was stolen three days back in Hyderabad, the Speaker said it was surprising that the main Opposition YSRCP leaders had filed a complaint on the issue which was related to the TDP. He termed the act of the YSPCP leaders as immoral.

Addressing mediapersons here on Tuesday, Sivaprasada Rao alleged that over 1,500 votes of the residents of Narasaraopeta town were removed by the officials concerned. He expressed surprise on the statements of YSRCP leaders that the TDP had removed the names of the votes of their party’s followers and supporters. He claimed that he had never seen such incidents in his long political career, which began in the year 1983. The Speaker alleged that attempts were being made by the YSRCP leaders to create a rift among the people of different communities.

The Speaker said baseless allegations were being made against him. He also challenged the YSRCP leaders to come forward and fight face-to-face. He urged the people of the State, officials and others to be on high alert after such incidents. He also alleged that votes were being deleted at the behest of YSRCP political strategist Prashant Kishore. He made it clear that he would fight for the protection of the TDP till his last breath. He was ready to contest the ensuing elections from anywhere across the State. Sivaprasada Rao also alleged that the ruling TRS party from Telangana and YSRCP had become puppets in the hands of the BJP. He made it clear that the people of the State still have rights over Hyderabad as it was a common capital. He alleged that the Telangana Government acted in a over-exciting manner in the data theft case.
