Hyderabad: State CPI secretary Chada Venkat Reddy today slammed the State government for mentally torturing the girijans by foisting criminal cases against the girijans under Prevention of Detention Act.
Speaking at an all-party meeting on “Problems of Adivasis, protection of Girijans lands held under the chairmanship of Prof. Kodandaram, TJS president here on Tuesday, the CPI leader alleged that the TRS government was subjecting podu farmers to severe problems. He also called upon the Adivasis and girijans to get ready for a struggle for protection of forest lands in the State.
TPCC president Uttam Kumar Reddy, TDP senior leader Peddi Reddy, Congress leader Kodanda Reddy, MLA Haripriya Naik and leaders of the CPM and other parties were present.
