Bangalore, February 14: Valentine’s day celebrations in Karnataka today saw a mix of the traditional and contemporary as heart-shaped chocolates, crimson red-rosed bouquets and deep-brown vintage wine jostled for attention along with e-Valentine Day cards, SMS love messages, e-mall offerings and go-green initiatives.
The traditional red metaphors relating to Valentine Day celebrations gave place to green this year as coffee chains and a cellular network offered couples the choice of saving their planet they love by opting to place their orders through mobile instead of paper, thereby saving precious resources.
The campaign offered couples to download the menu card and bills on their mobile phones and eliminate use of paper.
For those still to make up their minds about whom they would want to walk to the altar, a hotel came up with a unique offering- a rare opportunity of dating three valentine for three different price packages.
