Cueist Yasin writes to Rahul again, seeks audience

New Delhi, February 04: With his letter to Rahul Gandhi not yielding any result, two-time Asian champion cueist Yasin Merchant has now sought an audience with the Congress leader to present his case for a Padma award.

Merchant, after being ignored for the Padma Shri this year, had last week written a letter to Gandhi, ridiculing some of this year’s awardees and questioning the selection criteria for the award.

In his recent letter, Merchant says that he wants to present his case personally.

“By now you must be aware of the letter that I had written to you earlier regarding the Padma awards. I am extremely disappointed at having been sidelined yet again,” Merchant wrote.

“Nevertheless, regarding the same, I request you to grant me an audience to further clarify and present my case personally.
