Criminal cases would be lodged against violators

Hyderabad: GHMC mayor B Rammohan today warned that criminal cases would be registered if anybody tried to re-construct demolished structures taken up recently.
He was addressing in a meeting attended by GHMC officials, town planning and engineering officials. The operation demolisition drive is going on after recent heavy rains which created tension in the city as rain water inundated several low laying areas and colonies. After this fury, the GHMC officials started demolition of unauthorized structures constructed after encroachment of nalas and tanks.
GHMC has taken up demolition of dilapidated houses and illegal houses as per the courts orders under its jurisdiction, he said.
There was information that some persons are indulged in re-construction of demolished houses. Criminal cases would be registered against those who found this kind of work, he warned.
Speaking on the occasion GHMC commissioner Janardhan Reddy repair of damaged roads and filling of potholes created due to recent heavy rains was taken up on a war footing basis. Engineering staff was asked to monitor quality of materials used in repairing damaged roads, he said.
Chief engineer Suresh, CCP Devender Reddy, zonal commissioners and engineering officials attended the function.(NSS)
