New Delhi: Indian Cricket icon Sachin Tendulkar received nearly 90 lakh as his salaries and monthly allowances over the past six years during his term as Rajya Sabha Member which he has entirely donated to the PM’s Relief Fund.
Sachin’s term as Parliament’s member ended recently with other senior Parliament members tenure coming to an end too.
Sachin’s act was warmly welcomed by the Prime Minister’s Office who issued him a letter of acknowledgment which read as: “Prime Minister acknowledges this thoughtful gesture and conveys his gratitude. These contributions will be of immense help in providing assistance to the persons in distress.”
Actress Rekha and Sachin Tendulkar have always been criticized for being absent from their duties in Parliament over all these years.
However, Tendulkar has definitely made good use of MP Local Area Development Fund which according to data acquired from Tendulkar’s office revealed Sachin has sanctioned nearly 185 projects across the country at an expense of 7.% crores from his allocated Rs 30 crore for educational and structural related development.
Adding to his works the Cricket icon also adopted two villages under the Sansad Gram Adarsh Gram Yojana Scheme, including Puttam Raju Kandriga in Andhra Pradesh and Donja in Maharashtra, New18 reports.
