Crackdown against “Labbaik” movement in Pakistan

Pakistan: Federal Information Minister of Pakistan Fawad Chaudhary has confirmed that Khadim Hussain Rizvi Chief of the Labbaik Movement has been taken into preventive custody for security reasons.
He further told that this action was necessary since the movement had refused to withdraw their agitation that was scheduled to be organized on 25th November.

Mr Chowdhary further told that the movement had become a threat to the lives and properties of people in the country.

He clarified that it has nothing to do with Asiya Bibi’s case.

According to the report of the police, sensitive areas have been blocked anticipating the protest against the arrest of Maulana Rizvi. Barricades have been put at the entrance of Islamabad.

Reports of the protests were received from Lahore, Karachi and other cities after the arrest.

Khadim Rizvi’s son told that the protest programme would be held so as to register a protest against the exoneration of Asiya Bibi.
