CPI seeks synopsis of Srikrishna report

Hyderabad, January 02: CPI state secretary K Narayana has urged Union home minister P Chidambaram to supply a synopsis of the Srikrishna Committee’s report to all the eight recognised political parties of the state to enable their representatives to go prepared to the all-party meeting in Delhi on January 6.

In a letter Narayana said, “ As we understand that the report is voluminous, we need to have a synopsis along with the report. It will be difficult to give our opinion instantaneously without going into the details of it. We may have to consult our respective party committees before we give our suggestions. It will be useful if the report or its synopsis is given to us earlier so that we can come prepared’.

He felt that the home ministry should give a copy of the report to the political parties first before releasing it to the public. ` If we are not able to say anything immediately the purpose of the meeting may be defeated,’’ he observed.
