CPI repenting for joining Congress-led Kutami

Hyderabad: Communist Party of India (CPI), which contested the recent Assembly elections along with the Congress and the TDP under the banner of grand alliance, has now introspecting for its humiliating defeat.

The senior party leaders met here today and introspected on the issue. It was unanimously felt that the party had failed to act in an independent manner and gave an impression to the people that it was the second fiddle to the Congress party that eventually resulted in its decimation in the State. Some party leaders felt that they could have won some Assembly seats had they contested the elections independently.

Some leaders said the grand alliance parties’ leaders could not work hard for the victory of the party in the Assembly seats where it contested the elections. The party had contested in Wyra, Bellampally and Husnabad Assembly constituencies and lost the elections at all the three places.
