JAIPUR: Rajasthan Education Minister Vasudev Devnani said that the cow is the only animal that inhales and exhales oxygen.
According to a report in the Indian Express, speaking at the Hingonia Goshala during an event organised by Akshay Patra foundation Saturday, the BJP politician said,
“Gai ekmatra prani hai jo oxygen grahan karta hai, aur oxygen hi chodta hai (the cow is the only animal that takes in oxygen and also releases oxygen)” adding that “there is a need to understand the scientific significance of the cow and ensure that the message reaches all people.”
According to a report published in UN Food and Agricultural Organisation in 2006, livestock, including cows, are responsible for the greenhouse gases emission (GHG) that cause global warming than all other forms of transport put together.
It means cows from their digestive systems as well as manure decay produce more GHG than transport.
Twitterati, didn’t stop from dissing the minister’s statement and trolled him for his scientific discovery.
Cow only animal to inhale and exhale Oxygen. In Patanjali Airlines instead of Oxygen mask, a cow will fall down on you in case of emergency.

Children, everything you've learnt so far, was anti-national. Since the cow exhales oxygen, we should plant cows, instead of trees. https://t.co/gY5ZmEnEQa

Don't know how @VasudevDevnani even cleared his matriculation let alone become the Education Minister of Rajasthan. https://t.co/bKZBXD6crQ
