Court refuses to interfere in proposed BSP rally

Lucknow, March 13: In Uttar Pradesh the Allahabad High Court has refused to interfere in the proposed rally of the ruling Bahujan Samaj Party in Lucknow on Monday.

This follows assurances by the senior officers of the state government and Railways to the court that the government has made all arrangements to ensure that no inconvenience is caused to the general public. They have also assured the court that the government has taken security and other measures to prevent any untoward incident.

A division Bench of the Lucknow bench of the court consisting Justices Pradeep Kant and Shabihul Hasnain had summoned the officials to explain the steps they had taken to prevent the disruption of normal life in view of the rally while hearing two Public Interest Petitions seeking ban on rally.

Meanwhile elaborate security arrangements have been made in Lucknow in view of the BSP rally on Kanshi Ram’s birthday. About 20 companies of PAC have been deployed at the rally place while 7 companies of PAC would be positioned in and around Charbagh railway station, so that no untoward incident took place.
