New Delhi, August 14: Former Andhra Pradesh Governor ND Tiwari on Friday received a jolt from the Delhi High Court when his plea seeking deletion of certain paragraphs from the paternity case filed by Rohit Shekhar was rejected.
Mr Rohit Shekhar is claiming that Mr Tiwari is his biological father and he was born out of a relationship between the former AP Governor and his mother.
Justice Ravindra Bhatt said that he was satisfied that Mr Tiwari’s plea of deletion of the paragraphs was unmerited and added that the omission of the paragraphs in question would be effectively be the omission of the entire matter. He said that this is not acceptable.
The paragraph states that Mr Shekhar had tried to meet Mr Tiwari at Delhi Airport in 2005, but the former AP Governor avoided the meeting.
The veteran Congress leader had defended himself over the paternity claim by saying that the documents and photographs produced before the court could be fabricated and also denied that he had any physical relationship with Mr Shekhar’s mother.
The former AP Governor was forced to resign after a television channel broadcasted a video, purportedly showing him in a compromising position with three women inside the Raj Bhavan.
