Muzaffarpur (Bihar), November 13: A Bihar court today ordered a probe by the state vigilance bureau into a complaint against Deputy Chief Minister S K Modi about alleged irregularities in purchase of medicines for cattle worth Rs 8 crore in 2008, when he was in-charge of animal resources department.
Special Vigilance judge (North Bihar) A K Saran ordered the Superintendent of Police (vigilance) to inquire into the allegations against Modi and submit a report within a month.
The court passed the order on a complaint filed by senior advocate Sudhir Ojha, who had alleged rampant irregularities in purchase of medicines for cattle in January, 2008 when Modi was holding the additional charge of the state animal resources ministry.
Modi, when contacted, refused to comment on the court order.
