Congress too to appoint constituency In-charges

Hyderabad, July 31: In an atttempt to strengthen the Congress in the Assembly constituencies where its MLAs are loyal to YS Jagan Mohan Reddy of YSR Congress and those represented by other parties, the state party leadership is thinking of appointing party in-charges for these constituencies.

‘Fence sitters’ and defeated candidates in the last elections will be given priority in the appointment in order to strengthen the Congress by the time elections will be held in 2014. PCC president Botcha Satyanarayana is keen to appoint in-charges, for the first time in the Congress, in the Assembly segments concerned.

As of now, the TDP has in-charges for constituencies being represented by other party MLAs.
The party leadership has asked its cadre not to invite the party MLAs and others who are sailing with Jagan to any meeting or programme organised by the Congress.

It has found fault with the Seemandhra Congress public representative convener S Sailajanath and other leaders for including pro-Jagan MLAs like Rayachoti MLA G Srikanth Reddy in the delegation which met Congress central leaders Pranab Mukherjee, P Chidambaram and Ghulam Nabi Azad in New Delhi recently.

Considering the prevailing political uncertainity, the party leadership has decided not to take action against MLAs who attended YSR Congress plenary at Kadapa recently.
