Kolkata, May 31: The All India Congress Committee (AICC) has finalised the names of party MLAs to be included in West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s Council of Ministers as Ministers of State.
“We have finalised the names and I have forwarded the list to the Chief Minister requesting her to induct them into her Council of Ministers on a suitable date,” Shakeel Ahmed, AICC general secretary in charge of West Bengal told The Hindu over telephone. However, Mr. Ahmed refused to reveal their names as “it is the prerogative of the Chief Minister to announce the names of her ministerial colleagues.”
While Manas Bhunia, president of the West Bengal Pradesh Congress Committee, and Abu Hena, leader of the Congress Legislature Party in the West Bengal Assembly, have already been sworn in as Cabinet Ministers in Ms. Banerjee’s council, it is believed that there was a lot of debate over the names of the Ministers of State.
