Madurai, December 26: Senior Congress leader and a bitter critic of the ruling DMK in Tamil Nadu, E V K S Elangovan has alleged that the Congress might face defeat if it continues its alliance with DMK in the upcoming assembly elections in the state.
Mr Elangovan told mediaspersons last night ”we all know that the party will lose the elections if we continue our alliance with DMK.
A majority of Youth Congress leaders had asked AICC General Secretary Rahul Gandhi to disband the alliance with DMK during his recent two-day visit to Tamil Nadu.” Even Congress representatives from Tamil Nadu, who attended the recently concluded party’s plenary session had requested the party high command to forge a winning alliance.
To a query, he expressed hope that the party would take a ”decision” very soon.
Continuing his tirade against the DMK, he alleged that the ruling party had lost the people’s confidence because of its misdeeds.
