Hyderabad, November 14: Rich tributes were paid to the first prime Minister late Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru at his statue at Abids here on the occasion of his birth anniversary.
The Chief Minister, Mr K Rosaiah, garlanded the statue and paid tributes to the great leader. The Chief Minister released white pigeons and balloons into the air on the occasion.
The Rajya Sabha member, Mr V Hanumantha Rao, the MLC, Ms Ganga Bhavani, and the Congress senior leader, Mr Uppunuthala Purushotham Reddy, accompanied the Chief Minister.
The Union Minister and AICC leader incharge of AP affairs, Mr M Veerappa Moily, the PCC president, Mr D Srinivas, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation Mayor, Ms Banda Karteeka Reddy, and others were among those who paid tributes to the late leader. (NSS)
