“Congress to pick candidates for next polls through online mode”

Meanwhile, Uttam Kumar Reddy, while addressing a tele-conference with all mandal presidents and other senior leaders, asked them to intensify enrolment for Shakti programme. He said that the Congress party plans to use online mode to select candidates for next Assembly elections. Therefore, the Congress members who have registered themselves with Shakti programme would be able to give their opinion on selection of candidates. He also advised them to strengthen the party’s organisation at grass root level and create awareness among people on the failures of TRS Government. Asking them to be ready for early polls, he directed them to check their names in the electoral rolls as the authorities have reportedly deleted names of thousands of Congress workers from the list. He also asked them to check the names of their family members, relatives and neighbours in the electoral rolls.

Uttam Kumar Reddy alleged that Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao was giving preference to personal publicity over governance and he has been ruining the democracy using ‘looted’ wealth. He also accused Minister K. Tarakarama Rao of speaking out of arrogance of power. He said people of Telangana were totally disappointed with the KCR & Family and has been desperately waiting for next elections to throw them out of power. He said more than four crore people of Telangana were being harassed for the sake of four members of KCR family. He said KCR’s return to power would be a threat for entire Telangana society.

The TPCC Chief said unlike KCR Government which has failed to fulfil a single major promise in the last four years, Congress party would implement each and every assurance being given to people. He said Aasra pension amount for all categories of beneficiaries would be doubled and at least 10 lakh jobless youth would be given unemployment allowance of Rs. 3,000 per month. Besides reducing the age limit for Old Age pensions from present 65 years to 58 years, he said the Congress Government would give pension to both husband and wife and the parents of government employees will also be eligible to get Old Age pension. He said the main intention for expanding the pension network was to benefit maximum number of poor people and weaker sections.

Uttam Kumar Reddy reiterated that the next Congress Government would waive off crop loans up to Rs. 2 lakh in a single take. Accusing TRS Government of not clearing the bills of Indiramma Housing scheme, he promised that all pending bills would be cleared after Congress returns to power. He said all farmers need insurance cover as it helps their families after their death. However, he said the State Government should come up with schemes which should help farmers when they are alive.

The TPCC Chief also alleged that KCR was not only cheating the people, but also Gods. He said that the Chief Minister has forgotten the promise of giving Rs. 100 crore funds for development of Vemulawada Temple.
