Rs 8,500 salary for sanitary workers soon: Jupally

Hyderabad: Panchayat Raj Minister Jupally Krishna Rao today said the TRS government was determined to strengthen the gram panchayats with all facilities with a focus on clean and green besides supporting SHGs. He also announced that the State government has decided to deposit Rs 8,500 monthly salary in the bank accounts of sanitary workers and resolve their issues soon.

Addressing the media at the Secretariat today, Jupally flayed the Congress leaders for making baseless accusations against the State government only for political mileage. There was no iota of truth in what the Opposition makes comments, he said. He also condemned the comments of the Congress leaders as baseless that the State government was releasing arrears to women groups only after AICC president Rahul Gandhi visited Hyderabad. The minister also said the TRS government has allocated Rs 8,800 crore so far Rs 2,000 crore loans already distributed for 2018-19 fiscal.

Resents Rahul Gandhi remarks
The minister took serious exception to Rahul Gandhi for stating that the Telangana government ignored women groups. Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has allocated about Rs 6,032 crore and released Rs 902 crore for 2017-18 interest free loans benefiting 3,71,600 women group members. Krishna Rao asked the officials to set up nurseries in all the villages across the State in a month and take up green drive and sanitation. The villages will get all the facilities such as roads, power, water, drainage, sanitation, public cemeteries and so on, he said.
The minister asked the officials to ensure clean environs in the villages by spreading bleaching powder and cleaning up on regular basis, LED lights in the streets and dump yards in all the villages. The Centre has to give its reply on zonal system after which the State government will take a further step to appoint 9,000 panchayat secretaries, he added.
