Congress has no right to flay BJP: K. Laxman

New Delhi, March 24: Dr. K. Laxman, national BJP secretary, said here on Wednesday that the State Congress had no right to criticise the party as it had shown its strength by ensuring defeat of APCC president D. Srinivas twice in the Assembly elections.

At a press conference, he objected to Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy’s comments against the BJP. He asserted that the party was gaining in strength, going by its performance of winning 90 per cent seats in local body elections in Gujarat and the fact that Muslims in Jammu and Kashmir opting to join the party fold.

The party, Dr. Laxman claimed, continued to win most of the elections it contested in since last year. He predicted that there would be a realignment of political forces at the national level after the forthcoming elections in five States. There was a possibility of the Third Front emerging as an alternative to the UPA and the NDA.

The BJP leader said during the ‘Jana Jagaran’ programme to be conducted in April and May, the party would focus attention on and create public awareness against corruption.
