Bangalore, December 19: Congress in Karnataka today maintained that it was not making any attempt to topple the BJP government, but said the party should not be held responsible “if it falls on its own”.
“If it falls on its own, we can’t help,” Congress leader in the state assembly Siddaramaiah told reporters here, rejecting the oft-repeated BJP charge that it was plotting to dislodge B S Yeddyurappa-led government.
“People want this government to go. We will not topple it.
Operation Lotus undertaken by BJP (to lure legislators of other parties) has boomeranged already,” Siddaramaiah said, slamming the government for its “failure to perform”.
