Cong takes out “dhol-damau” rally

Dehra Dun, March 13: Putting aside their differences, the top state Congress leaders today took out a “dhol-damau” (musical) rally against the alleged failure of the state BJP government.

Organised by Kishor Upadhayay Congress MLA from Tehri, several Congress leaders including Union Minister of State for Agriculture Harish Rawat, Uttarakhand Congress president Yashpal Arya and Tehri MP Vijay Bahuguna, who are considered to be political adversaries, took part in the rally.

The rally started from Gandhi Park and was meant to end at Chief Minister’s residence.

Over 5,000 people participated in the rally and the main feature of the rally was the presence of large number of musical instruments “dhol-damau” which were played in order to wake up the government from the “deep slumber,” Upadhaya said.
