Cong-NC abetting Jamat-bandhs in Kashmir, accuses JKNPP

Srinagar, December 12: Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party (JKNPP) today appealed to Governor N N Vohra to dismiss the Congress and National Conference (NC) coalition government in the state, accusing the alliance of working under the dictates of Jamat-e-Islami and other anti-national groups in Kashmir. In a statement issued here, JKNPP chairman Bhim Singh said by deliberately choosing to observe silence the ruling allies were literally supporting the bandh calls regularly announced by Jamat leaders in Kashmir to disrupt peace.

”Congress and NC claims leadership of Kashmir Valley and their tacit support to the strike calls given by Mr Ali Shah Geelani leaves no doubt that Mr Geelani has worked out a clear latent understanding with the ruling parties to disrupt peace in the Valley so that they shall continue blackmailing the Central Government for their gains and personal interests,” Prof Singh said.

The JKNPP leader expressed surprise that not a single political party in power has ever made even an appeal to the people in the Valley about the damage and loss it had been causing to the general public, including daily labourers, shopkeepers, traders and educational institutionsin the Valley.

Prof Singh urged the Governor to dismiss the government, which had been working under the dictates of Jamat-e-Islami and other anti-national groups. He also directed the JKNPP leadershipin the Valley to go to the people with the clear message and expose the wrong and anti-people policies of the government.
