Dehra Dun, October 25: A group of four Congress MLAs in Uttarakhand would organise a dharna tomorrow to protest against the ruling BJP’s alleged apathy towards development works in the state.
The MLAs Manoj Tiwari, Kishor Upadhayay and Pritam Singh would organise the dharna in front of the chief minister’s residence at Yamuna Colony here.
The MLAs alleged that the state government has put all major developmental projects on hold. Nishank was merely indulging in lip-service and has not announced any major infrastructure project since he became the chief minister, they told reporters here.
Hitting out at Chief Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank for performing ‘bhumi pujan’ at a medical college site in Almora yesterday, Tiwari said, it was “unnecessary” as former chief minister B C Khanduri had already held ‘shilanyas’ for the project there.
“What is the difference between the two functions?” the Congress MLA from Almora said.
