Hyderabad, December 10: Opposition Telugu Desam Party (TDP) President N Chandrababu Naidu today alleged that the Congress High Command has damaged the prestige of Andhra Pradesh by its unilateral decision on introducing a resolution on a separate Telangana state without consulting all the stakeholders.
Addressing a press conference here, he said the Telangana issue was ”sensitive”. It was the responsibility of the UPA government to force a decision only after taking into confidence all sections of the people and public representatives without hurting the sentiments of the people of all the regions.
He alleged the Congress High Command was responsible for the panic among the people of the state due to its overnight decision on resolution without formulating any guidelines and policies on it.
It was necessary for the UPA government to discuss the matter with all stakeholders, including the public and legislators belonging to all parties.
He alleged that the Congress High Command had taken the decision without considering the views of the Congress legislators and MPs belonging to Rayalaseema and Andhra regions.
Mr Naidu alleged Chief Minister K Rosaiah’s statement that he had not received any written communication on the resolution was a clear indication thatthe Congress High Command had taken the decision without informing him.
Asked about the resignations of Telugu Desam legislators belonging to Rayalaseema and Coastal Andhra Pradesh, he said they had taken the decision to resign in view of the pressure from the people in their areas.
Alleging that the Congress High Command has resorted to ”match fixing” on the Telangana issue, he said the Congress has damaged the image of Andhra Pradesh.
