New Delhi, December 08: Congress seems to be divided over the Telengana issue as the Andhra unit of the party put the ball in the high command’s court.
“Some of our members are for the creation of a separate state and some are against it,” Andhra Congress president D Sreenivas, MP, told reporters outside Parliament here.
When asked about his own view on the issue, he said, “It is a sensitive issue and my party’s view is my view.”
“We have given our views to the Centre and the party high command. They have to decide,” Srinivas said.
The MP also said Congress is seized with the matter and the issue would be sorted out soon.
Taking a dig at the Congress’ ambivalent stand, BJP leader Venkaiah Naidu said all other political parties including Left, TDP, TRS, Praja Rajyam Party and BJP have supported the Telengana state.
