Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on August 3 urged the Centre to take a call on High Court division among two Telugu States and keep the promises of Andhra Pradesh Bifurcation Act.
KCR called on Union Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad and discussed on the long pending issue of High Court bifurcation. The Centre has to take a call on the issues pertaining to bifurcation of the state, he said. He also asked for speedy decision on the division of the high court as the state is ready with land and other facilities for the purpose. The Chief Minister also asked Ravi Shankar Prasad to direct the Andhra Pradesh Government to speed up the process of setting up a new high court in the state.
KCR is to urge the Centre to give its nod for a new zonal system approved by the state government. The Chief Minister is likely to take up the high court division with the Prime Minister and is to seek release of the funds for several flagship programs. KCR has already sought appointment and to meet with Prime Minister, Narendra Modi and other ministers during his Delhi stint. He is expected to discuss on other important issues like completion of the irrigation projects and other flagship programs such as Mission Bhagiratha, Mission Kakatiya and others.
KCR today took a special flight from Begumpet Airport and reached the national capital along with Chief Secretary SK Joshi, DGP Mahender Reddy and other officials. (NSS)
