Hyderabad, January 20: The Chief Minister, Mr N. Kiran Kumar Reddy, is before the state Assembly Budget Session in February.
The party leadership seems to have asked the CM to reexamine the proposals after a thorough scrutiny of the consequences that may follow a reshuffle.
Sources said the CM had discussed the Cabinet reshuffle with the central leaders for close to eight hours weighing the pros and cons, but was finally told to do some more analysis on the likely fallout of the changes that are going to be effected.
The leadership seems to be worried about Congress legislators who are either dropped or not accommodated in the reshuffle would try to switchover sides to either the TRS or the YSR Congress which will ultimately rock the government.
The Congress leadership has taken a firm stand to ensure continuation of the government till the 2014 elections without any hiccups and further defections. Sources said central party leaders have told Chief Minister to confine the reshuffle by taking two from the PR, that was done on Thursday and fill the three vacancies from Telangana region (including that of Mr Shankar Rao who was sacked).
However, the CM has insisted that he wants to recast the Cabinet by dropping seven and induct 10 afresh apart from two PR legislators. He also reportedly gave a presentation on the formation of a new Cabinet with portfolios too focussing on the new development and welfare schemes he initiated.
While agreeing to the proposals, the leadership has also cautioned him that it would be better to have a relook into the proposals.
