CM fumes at State BJP chief’s jibe

Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao today criticized that the BJP was talking nonsense on the disbursal of funds from the Centre to the State towards welfare and other heads.

Talking to the media here at Telangana Bhavan on Thursday, the Chief Minister ridiculed BJP State president Dr K Laxman for talking in a “foolish” manner on the funds offered by the Centre. KCR took serious exception to Laxman’s comments that the TRS government has failed to spend funds given by the Centre. “I also apprised Prime Minister Narendra Modi that the Centre gave only Rs 700 crore as against Rs 3000 crore sought towards drought relief”, he said, adding that the State was surpassing other States in many sectors.

“Dr Laxman was behaving like a ‘new beggar’ who does not know time to beg”, he charged. The BJP should stop such mud-slinging against the State government which was committed to the welfare of the people and State. The Opposition parties bit the dust in the Palair bye-poll, he said. Though these parties are not ready to mend their ways despite being rejected by the people scornfully, he said the BJP leaders, including Union minister Bandaru Dattatraya should try to get national status to any single project to root out drought from Telangana State, he suggested.

Laxman should know before uttering words that only expose their foolishness, an anguished Chief Minister said. The by-poll result should become an eye-opener to the Opposition parties which should stop vilification campaign against the government. The unholy alliance of the Congress, TDP, YSRCP and BJP, which mocked democracy, had to bite dust, he added. While the government took measures to check the practices of ‘lobbying and corruption’ at Secretariat, the Opposition was resorting to defame us by saying all schemes are illegal”, he warned. (NSS)
