Hyderabad, March 09: Mr N. Kiran Kumar Reddy, has a tough task ahead of him. On one hand he has to assign 184 MLAs to the seven MLC candidates ensuring their win and on the other hand, he has to deal with the 20 MLAs who are supporters of Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy, to ensure that they do not rock the Congress boat.
The CM is playing his cards close to the chest and when ministers and senior MLAs asked him on Tuesday regarding the strategy to be adopted and regarding the allotment of members to each MLC candidate, Mr Reddy told them that he was still to decide on the matter and assured them that he would look into it.
Regarding the 20 Congress MLAs of the Jagan camp, the Chief Minister has come up with a unique strategy to ensure that there is no cross-voting. He plans to assign them to the Legislative council deputy chairman, Mr Md Jani, and the former municipal chairman of Kurnool, Mr M. Sudhakar Babu, who is from the predominant Madiga community.
“If anything goes wrong and the two candidates, one minority and the other Dalit, are defeated, the Congress can blame Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy for the mischief and make a big issue out of it during the Kadapa Lok Sabha by-polls,” a source said.
