New Delhi: Uttarakhand government announced a compensation of Rs 4 lakh each to the next of kin who were killed following a cloudburst in Pauri district in the state.
Seven members of a family were killed when their house was razed to the ground by huge boulders that rolled down the hill after a cloudburst hit the area yesterday.
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat made the announcement after vising the affected area where he also met the family members of the deceased, a government official said.
An sum of Rs four lakh each will be given for the demise of every member.
The CM also announced a help of Rs two lakh to the family for their building which was flattened to the ground.
