Tirupati MLA and Congress leader Chiranjeevi has closed down PRP office in the Assembly, following merger of the party in Congress even in the House, formally.
A separate room was allotted to PRP after it won 18 seats in the last elections. However, last year Chiranjeevi had announced merger of his party in the Congress. He had also informed the Election Commission about the merger. However, though the party was merged in Congress later, its integration in the Assembly was not possible till recently, because of some legal problems.
Recently Speaker Nadendla Manohar officially announced merger of PRP in Congress inside the House also. As such, the party needed no separate office as it ceased to exist. This is the reason why the office was closed. Now PRP members would henceforth function from the Congress Legislature Party office in the Assembly.
