Chiranjeevi is clueless about Rajya sabha seat

Congress leader K. Chiranjeevi on Friday said that he had no information about the allotment of a Rajya Sabha ticket to him by the Congress High Command.

During an interaction with mediapersons in the Assembly lobbies on Friday, Mr Chiranjeevi said, “I have not received any information in this regard. I cannot comment on things about which I have no information. I will abide by whatever decision the party high command takes.”

Mr Chiranjeevi tried to avoid controversy and appeared very cautious during the interaction.
When scribes asked him whether he would be comfortable at the state or at the Centre he said, “It is wonderful to be in state and more wonderful outside.”

When the journalists asked him about his ambition to become the CM, he said that he had never said he will become the CM, but only wanted to serve the state, if voted to power.

He said his party merged with Congress without any preconditions and it hardly matters if he was given Rajya Sabha ticket or not.

Asked if his brother Naga Babu or wife Surekha would take his place in Tirupati Assembly constituency if he goes to Rajya Sabha, Mr Chiranjeevi smiled saying the issue has not come to that level.

Asked whether he would campaign in the bye elections, he said his election tours are being finalised and it would be known in a day or two. ‘ whatever they (party leaders) decide I abide by that, I will certainly campaign in the bye elections’ he said.
