Chicago Olympic group seeks Obama presence for vote

Chicago, September 11: US Olympic Committee chairman Larry Probst said that he is hopeful US President Barack Obama will join them in Copenhagan next month as part of the city’s Olympic bid delegation.

“There is serious consideration to having Obama attend in Copenhagan,” Probst said yesterday.

“The White House is firmly committed to the Chicago bid.

Obama has done four different videos endorsing the bid.

“They have walked the talk to demonstrate their support.”

Chicago is bidding for the 2016 Summer Olympics along with Madrid, Rio de Janerio and Tokyo.

Chicago is sending a large delegation to Copenhagan for the October 2 vote and Probst believes having the president there would significantly enhance their chances of beating out the other three for the Games.
