Government Chief Whip Gandra Venkatramana Reddy has alleged that TDP Chief N Chandrababu Naidu had instigated Congress leaders in 2009 and obstructed creation of separate Telangana State.
Speaking to the media at the CLP office here on Monday, Gandra said the Congress had already passed a resolution in favor of Telangana in the CLP meeting in 2009 and it has not changed that resolution. It means the Congress party was for the division of the State only.
Gandra alleged that Chandrababu Naidu had sent a letter in favor of Telangana only to continue his “Vastunna Meekosam Padayatra” safely in the Telangana region. He dared Chandrababu to shout ‘Jai Telangana’ during his padayatra if was really sincere. “If he was sincere, why did he take a U-turn in 2009”, he asked.
Holding the police guilty of over-action in Warangal district, Gandra said the police should not disturb Telangana protagonists in the name of inquiry in regard to Telangana issue. (NSS)
