Chandrababu created water hurdles: KCR

Thoughtful and persistent fight for Statehood of Telangana by the TRS  has gone into the  annals of world history that witnessed many other revolutions for freedom,  according to Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao. Except the third core issue of irrigation waters that saw hurdles created by his Andhra Pradesh counterpart, N Chandrababu Naidu, Telangana State  has achieved other two targets of own funds and jobs to Telangana people,  KCR stated.

Addressing the  15th plenary of the TRS here, he said that with peoples’ support and participation they  broke the shackles of suppression by the previous governments that dumped Telangana. KCR explained in brief how the TRS, during its 14 long years statehood fight, overcame all odds, inadequacies and obstructions created by successive governments before bifurcation and later by Chandrababu Naidu  to draw the State’s share of irrigation waters. ‘We had succeeded in our efforts to unite 36 different parties in Parliament to garner support for Telangana. Funds, Jobs and water formed part of our statehood fight,  and except irrigation waters,  we achieved all our goals,  he claimed.

Irrigation projects will be completed on a war footing to address the drought problem.  ‘Now we have achieved statehood and it is clear that we will use our own funds through budget, offer jobs to our children’ he said. As part of  welfare of the poor,  250 Gurukul schools and colleges will be launched this academic year as part of KG to PG scheme which is last promise of the portfolio,  he claimed. Party and the government will go hand in hand to implement welfare schemes. As part of welfare schemes,  the government will build 2 lakh double bedroom houses for poor this financial year, he said and reiterated he would  keep up  the promise of providing housing facility to Journalists in Hyderabad and elsewhere in  the districts. Unfazed with hurdles, finally with peoples’ mandate the TRS took the reins with complete understanding of the problems in the state and now works towards welfare to transform the state into a golden Telangana,  he added.(NSS)
