Centre’s nod for 650 km National highways: Tummala

In a significant development, the  Centre has agreed to develop 650 km roads as national highways in Telangana State. Roads and Buildings Minister Tummala Nageshwar Rao today called on Union Surface Transport Minister, Nitin Gadkari at Parivahan Bhavan in Delhi.

 

Talking to media persons later, Rao said that he has discussed on four issues related to roads in the state. Gadkari agreed to sanction the roads followed by an appeal from Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao. The union minister directed the higher officials to give immediate sanction to proposals of 650 km roads to be developed into national highways, he said. The proposals are to connect Hyderabad with 300 km roads, Hyderabad to Bhadrachalam and to Kothagudem through Bayyaram, Valigonda, Torrur, Nellikudur, Mahabubabad and Illandu. (NSS)
