Union Labour Minister Bandaru Dattatraya today said Prime Minister Narendra Modi was very much aware of the problems of the downtrodden and labourers in detail. The Prime Minister has deliberated with the Qatar Government on the problems of Indian Labourers.
Modi met the labourers working in Qatar and is the first Prime Minister to have his meal with them during his visit on Sunday, June 5 and interacted with them, listened to their problems and assured of the best possible solutions, he said. He also stated that out of 1.15 Lakh Crore Corpus Fund in 2015-16, and 5 per cent has been invested in Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs). As on last March 31, Rs 6,577 crore was invested in the stock markets and the return was Rs 6,601 crore which is up by 0.37 per cent and also as on April 30, 2016, the amount invested was Rs 6,674 crore and the return was Rs 6,686 crore which is up by 1.68 per cent.
Stating that the Centre was committed to the welfare of the labourers and deprived classes, the Minister observed that the labourers are from different parts of the country and also from Andhra Pradesh covering the districts of Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Kadapa, etc and from Telangana covering the districts of Karimnagar, Adilabad, Nizamabad, Mahabubnagar, etc. The Minister assured that Labour welfare is the highest priority of the Narendra Modi’s Government and every step is taken in this aspect besides wage security, social security and job security.
