Hyderabad: Ministry of Finance, Govt. of India released Rs. 1813 crore to Telangana State as part of its liability. Authentic sources of Govt. of Telangana informed about this. In fact, every month, Rs. 997 crore should be deposited in the Govt. treasury of the State in lieu of tax.
It may be mentioned that out of Central Taxes, 42% is allocated to the States as their shares. In the month of October, instead of depositing Rs. 997 crore, Govt. of India deposited only Rs. 447 crore. It is understood that Govt. of Telangana strongly opposed this step. In this regard, Mr. KCR consulted Governor of Telangana and A.P., Mr. E.S.L. Narasimhan in detail and sought his advice. During his visit to New Delhi, he had apprised the PM of the situation and had requested to release all the liabilities. In view of this, Govt. of India decided to release Rs. 1813 crore.
