New Delhi, June 11: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has uploaded its “most-wanted” list having names of 143 people about three weeks after the probe agency withdrew the list from its website following goof-up.
The CBI sources today said out of nearly 550 names in the previous list, details of only 143 people against whom red corner notices were pending, have been placed on the website yesterday after due verification.
The sources added that remaining names will be uploaded soon.
The CBI had come under sharp criticism from different quarters after goof-up in the list of 50 most wanted persons which was handed over to Pakistan.
One Feroz Rashid Khan, whose name was mentioned in the fugitive list, was found lodged in Mumbai’s Arthur Road prison.
Following the “error”, the probe agency, taking a strict action, suspended an Inspector and transferred a Superintendent of Police and a Deputy Superintendent of Police from the agency’s Interpol Wing.
CBI Director AP Singh had also ordered a complete review of the working of the Interpol Wing of the probe agency by an officer of the rank of Joint Director.
