New Delhi, July 24: CBI has registered a case against the Income Tax Commissioner posted at Patiala for allegedly accumulating wealth disproportionate to his known sources of income and have seized several incriminating documents from various premises owned by him.
The disproportionate assets (DA) case was registered against Sushil Kumar Aggarwal, Commissioner of Income Tax, Patiala in Punjab for amassing crores of rupees in his name as well as in the name of his family members.
“Searches have been conducted at various places in four states including cities like Mumbai, Hyderabad and Jodhpur with a view to unearth the disproportionate assets acquired by the accused and his family members,” a CBI spokesperson said.
During searches, documents relating to five flats and one shop in Mumbai, a house in Bikaner, a plot in Jodhpur, several bank accounts, heavy investments in shares and financial instruments have been also found.
