Hyderabad: A case has been registered against Ola cabs staff by KPHB police for allegedly cheating their drivers. V Janardhan from Thukuguda, the president of Greater Hyderabad Ola leasing drivers Committee and an Ola driver filed a complaint with the police alleging that the Ola management has misled 1200 drivers.
“The Ola management has collected Rs 30,000 refundable amount from each one of the drivers for providing rental cars. The complainant alleged that the management initially lured them with an offer of zero commission at Rs 17 per kilometre fare and later reduced the fare amount to as low as Rs 6 per KM,” KPHB inspector Ch Kushalkar told DC.
The complaint further mentions that Ola drivers are not getting sufficient wages despite working 18-20 hours a day.
The complainant also requested the police to initiate appropriate legal action against Ola cabs management including, Khayuum, Keshava and Santosh, the inspector added.
Police registered a cheating case under Section 420 of the IPC and launched a probe.
