C M Orders Release Of Rs.50 Crore For Hyd Road Repair Works

Hyderabad, September 26: The Chief Minister Dr K Rosaiah has positively responded to the proposals submitted by the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation seeking immediate release of Rs.50 crores to take up repairs to the roads in the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad, which were damaged due to the recent rains.

The Chief Minister held a review meeting on the situation arising out of the rains in the State in the past few weeks, particularly relating to the bad shape of the roads, health and sanitation conditions and spread of diseases.

Speaking to the media later, the Minister for Health and Family Welfare Mr Danam Nagender stated that the Chief Minister has directed the officials to immediately release Rs.50 crores to the HGMC for road repair works. He said that the Government had already released Rs.32 crores for road repairs in the capital.

The Minister further said that the Chief Minister has directed the administrative machinery of all the districts to coordinate with the Municipal bodies concerned and take measures to stop spread of contagious diseases and make proper arrangements for their treatment.

Mr Nagender also said that the Chief Minister has given instructions to the authorities to keep a watch on the increasing water levels in Osmansagar and Himayathnagar and alert the people living in low-lying areas of the twin cities.

He said that the Chief Minister would inaugurate the hi-tech city flyover on October 2, 2010. (NSS)
