Business enterprises must play crucial role in nation’s development: Venkaiah

“Business enterprises should contribute to the nation’s development. Their role in employment generation is laudable. Recognising the talent is the top most need”, said M Venkaiah Naidu, Union Minister for Urban Development, Housing & Urban Poverty Alleviation, Information & Broadcasting. He was the Chief Guest the HMTV Business Excellence Awards 2017 ceremony held here today.

Speaking on the occasion, Venkaiah Naidu said, “Recognising the talented people is an inherent part of our Indian culture. When you work with humility many people will remember you”, the Union Minister exhorted. “One must idolise Mahatma Gandhi and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar in this aspect”, Venkaiah Naidu suggested. Business houses when they strive to preserve the standards, they will certainly win accolades, he opined. For any Nation, the Agriculture sector and Industry sector are like two eyes. Such is the importance of these two sectors, the Union Minister added.

 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision is Development of India. In order to achieve this he is taking several bold steps. Among them is Demonetisation. Through this decision, PM is waging war against Black Money and Corruption, Venkaiah Naidu said. The NDA Government is encouraging businesses and good governance. Attaining Development and taking the fruits of Development to people especially poorest of the poor is the motto of PM Modi ji, the Union Minister explained.

 

Nowadays there is an unhealthy trend is prevailing among the TV channels. The views should not be mixed with News. The Media must keep away from sensationalism. They must be nearer to the Truth, Sri Venkaiah Naidu advised. News must reflect realities in Society. The TV media must work for the benefit of people. Entertainment must co-exist with Knowledge. Crime, obscenity and vulgarity must be avoided. Quality must get priority. Journalists ought to work with social consciousness, the  Union Minister observed.

 

The Union Minister presented the awards in 14 categories on the occasion. These included the Best Business Excellence Award and Special Jury Awards. And there were two lifetime achievement awards as well. Sri V.B. Fadnavis, Regional Executive Director (South), NTPC, Ramagundam received the award in Manufacturing category. J. Rameshwar Rao and G. Ramachandra Naidu were the recipients of the Lifetime Achievement Awards. B Dattatreya, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Labour & Employment also attended the function. (NSS)
