Media reports on hospitals irk Health Minister

Health Minister Dr C Lakshma Reddy today expressed displeasure at frequent media reports of death of pregnant women and children during delivery in government hospitals.

The minister said that the media should show some restraint and stop showing small lapses as big issues in the hospitals. This type of attitude is provoking the people move towards the private hospitals he said.

Earlier, the minister launched ICU and labour room, modern and latest equipment at Petlaburj Hospital and also flagged off vaccination vehicles at Koti DMO office. He said that the health staff will make it to households on two-wheelers and administer vaccination to children for immunity. Besides filling up vacant posts of doctors and other staff the government hospitals will get latest and modern equipment and provide the best services and create confidence among people, he said. The government, he said, will take action against those who involved in illegal swapping of children at Petlaburj Hospital. The minister said that an inquiry is going on and facts will be known on receiving related reports of blood and others. (NSS)
